DisneyWorld!

Several years ago, Alan and I sat down and made a list of 100 things we would like to do during our lifetime.  Our list consists of everything from personal & ministry goals, hobbies, to traveling various places around the globe.  One of the things we wanted to do was take our boys to DisneyWorld sometime before they grew up.  We realized that would take some planning, saving and organizing.  One thing we did was get a Disney Credit Card to earn points for every dollar spent towards a discount for tickets.  As long as you pay it off every month, it is a pretty good deal.  (In 2010, we adopted our son Joshua and we purchased our plane tickets to South Korea on the card - Wahoo!)  We had also prepared the boys that since we are living in a small space in the RV,  gifts would be more "experiences" than actual toys or items.  This trip to DisneyWorld was our Christmas gift to the boys, so our actual Christmas last December was pretty simple.  All of the grandparents gave cash for Christmas, so the boys used that for their spending money.  (Thank you to all of the Grandparents!!!)

We had such a great time.  It truly is a magical place! Alan and I felt like kids again:) Most of all, we just enjoyed a fun vacation together.  A wise friend who is also a minister's wife once told me that we all need a vacation sometimes.  We shouldn't feel guilty to just go on a vacation with our families and just have fun.  It doesn't matter if you take a "stay-cation" at home and have a picnic and play board games or if you go all out and go to DisneyWorld. Just spending time getting away from the demands of ministry for awhile helps refresh everyone so we are all ready to continue to serve where God has called us to serve.  This trip really came at the perfect time.  Alan will be running his first seminar in one week - on my birthday actually! :)

Below are slideshows from Magical Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney Hollywood Studios.

Blessings to you and yours! Jill and the boys:)
