Happy 9th Birthday Nate!!!

Last month, we celebrated Nate's 9th birthday! Following our birthday tradition in the family, he chose  the menu and the activities for the day. For his one meal out, he wanted to go to Golden Corral.  The city we were going to be staying at on his birthday was not close to any, so we decided to take him early and found a restaurant on our way from Delaware to the RV park in Pennsylvania.

He LOVES Golden Corral, and he especially loves their cotton candy!!!

He opened his presents first thing in the morning on his birthday! He was thrilled to get his favorites and some things he has wanted for a long time including mud boots, a new Bible, a boomerang, compass set, and chocolate pop tarts!!! That's my boy! :)

For breakfast he chose bacon, scrambled eggs and monkey bread.

After breakfast, he enjoyed trying out his new boots and other presents! He LOVES everything about the great outdoors!!

His birthday cake was a chocolate chip cookie cake with one special request...no red icing!

After a few practice tries, Nate really picked up on how to throw his new boomerang!

One other thing Nate really wanted to do was go camping with Dad for his birthday.  So- just this past week during our visit in CT with family, Alan and Nate camped out here on my Dad's property.  There are acres of forest in his backyard...perfect for a campout in nature! They had a GREAT time!

Nate was excited that he started the campfire (with a little help from Dad).  They enjoyed cooking dinner over the open fire...

S'mores for dessert of course!!!

Nate- you are an amazing young man and I am SO proud of you! We love your funny stories, jokes, and your heart for other people.  You are an incredible big (and little) brother! We are so grateful you are a part of our family! May God bless you richly for many years to come!

We love you,

Mom, Dad, Micah, Caleb and Joshua:)
